A small family operation in the Yakima Valley.

KR Ranches is a working family ranch in Prosser, Washington. We raise our animals the way they should be raised: out on grass, with room to move, and time to grow.

Every customer who buys from us knows exactly where their meat came from, what it ate, and the family behind it. No long supply chains, no corporate middlemen. Just our family, our land, and the people we feed.

How It Works

    Choose your animal. Beef, pork, or lamb. Pick whole, half, or quarter. We will hold it for you with a deposit.

    Fill out a cut sheet. Tell us how thick you like your steaks, what kind of roasts, ground beef ratios, sausage flavors. We will help.
  3. 3
    We harvest and cut. Animals go to a USDA-inspected facility. Cut, wrapped, and frozen exactly to your spec.
  4. 4
    Pickup at the ranch. About 14 days from harvest to pickup. Bring coolers. Pay the balance, pack your freezer, eat well all year.

Common Questions

If you have never bought a whole animal before, start here. Then call us.

A quarter beef takes about 4 to 5 cubic feet, a half about 8 to 10, and a whole about 16 to 20. A standard chest freezer is around 7 to 9 cubic feet, so a half beef just about fills it. If you are not sure, give us a call before you order.

It is a form that tells the butcher how to cut your animal. Steak thickness, roast sizes, ground beef ratios, sausage flavors, soup bones or no, all of it. We help every customer fill it out. There is no wrong answer, just your preference.

From the day we harvest your animal to the day you pick up your meat is about 14 days. Beef hangs for dry-aging, then is cut and wrapped to your spec. We will call you the moment it is ready.

Yes. Pickup is at the ranch in Prosser. Bring coolers or a cooler with ice. We can usually help load if you let us know what you are bringing. For very large orders we sometimes can arrange delivery in the Yakima Valley. Ask.

Whole and half animal pricing is per hanging-pound, plus the butcher's cut and wrap fee. The exact number changes with feed, so we do not list a public price. Call us and we will walk you through what your order will run, all in.

We are not paying for the certified-organic label, but we ranch the way most folks would expect that label to mean. Pasture-raised, no hormones, no growth promoters. If you have specific questions about feed, vaccinations, or veterinary care, call us. We will answer straight.
